Gaiam Closet Odor Absorber Air Freshener (Non-toxic & Natural) Review

I ordered this product to help freshen up my closet a little. I don't have a major odor in there, just a slight smell of shoes and dirty laundry. However, I have had these bags hanging in the closet for a few weeks now and have noticed no change in the odor. It was a waste of money to buy these.

LG LS240HSV 24,000 BTU Single Zone Wall-Mounted Cool/Heat Pump Ductless Split System with Inverter, R-410A Refrigerant, Allergy Reduction/Deodorizing Filter and Wireless Remote Control (LSN240HSV Indoor/LSU240HSV Outdoor) Review

We added a 16 X 17 office to our home and were unable to attach ducts from our house furnace. Fortunately, our HVAC contractor told us about the LG unit. We had been thinking that we needed to install a small furnace-like device--along with ducts--to support the room. We live in Ohio so we needed both heating and cooling capabilities.
The unit was installed during January and the temps were in the 20's and 30's. We were at the "hanging drywall" stage. Each night we'd close the room and turn off the LG unit. The next morning the LG unit warmed the room in a matter of minutes. Outside noise was similar to a fan, not an air conditioner--much quieter. Inside fan noise was minimal, but the air flow was considerate.
The remote control is actually the thermostat and it controls heat/cooling, fan speed and temperature. Fan speed varies depending on how much difference there is between the current temp and the desired temp, but you can control the fan speed manually. There is even a "chaos" fan speed setting--it varies the speed and airflow direction constantly.
Installation is simple (you'll need an HVAC guy to charge the unit with refrigerant). Electrical requirements are 240V to the outside unit and 14-3 wire from the outside to the inside unit. The inside unit has a plastic drain pipe to the outside of the house. The inside unit is easy to clean and unobtrusive. It just hangs on the wall.
This is one of the best HVAC ideas I've ever seen. Were I building a new home, I'd use multiples of this box instead of a standard furnace & A/C combo.
It's my wife's office and she really likes the LG unit. It can't get any better!

The assembly was an 8/10 for easiness of directions. The product is pretty solid & sturdy. The design is pretty good for the price. The sliding door is a treat because my daughter loves it. The adjustable shelves makes it versitile. Overall value is a 9/10.

King Electrical W2415 1500-Watt Electric Fan-Forced Wall Heater Review

This what not at all what we expected. There was no off and on switch or thermostat. They could be purchased for more money. I returned them. Not a good deal at all, and not a realistic description of the item.

The King Electrical King Electrical W2415 fan-forced wall heater is ideal for heating small rooms of for spot heating. Instead of using a bulky, unsightly space heater, simply install this unit directly into your wall. The W2415 gives you two wattage options, 750 and 1500, allowing you to heat up to 140 square feet. The unit saves valuable space, and it looks like the register from a standard central heating system. The heater's "Smart limit protection" shuts it off if it overheats. One-year warranty.--Josh Dettweiler

Five Tips for Buying a HeaterChoosing a space heater is a matter of sifting through a bewildering array of types, power ratings, and fuel sources. Let's break it down a little to make the process easier.

What are the different types of space heaters?
Radiant heaters emit infrared radiation that directly warms the objects in front of the heaters (rather than the surrounding air). If you only need heat by a desk or in a small section of a room, a radiant heater is quiet and will use very little power.
Forced-air heaters use a fan to blow air that has been warmed by metal or ceramic heating elements. A forced-air heater is appropriate for quickly heating up a small- to medium-sized room, but can be noisy.
Convection heaters draw cold air from the floor; the air is warmed by heating coils and emitted from the top of the heater. A convection heater is appropriate for quickly heating up a small- to medium-sized room, but also can be noisy.
Radiators work by heating oil enclosed in a reservoir, gradually heating the surrounding air. If heating speed isn't an issue, you might want to opt for a radiator. These are extremely quiet and effective--perfect for bedrooms.

Should I buy an electric or a combustion model? If you want a heater that will be available in emergencies, or that can heat areas larger than a single room, choose a "combustion" model--one that is powered by a gas or fuel like propane, kerosene, natural gas, or diesel. Which fuel type you choose depends largely on convenience and local availability. For example, diesel would be appropriate for a heater you take with you on long car trips.

How powerful a heater do I need?Heaters are rated by BTU, which stands for British Thermal Unit (the amount of heat needed to heat one pound of water by 1 degree F). To find out how many BTU you need:
Calculate the volume of the space to be heated by multiplying square footage by height.
Multiply that number by 4 if your insulation is poor, 3 if it's average, or 2 if it's good.
The resulting number is a ballpark figure for how many BTU you'll need.
Do space heaters cost a lot to operate? As a general rule, electric space heaters are more expensive to use than combustion models. To ensure energy efficiency, a thermostat is a must-have feature for any heater. For radiant heaters, models with a 360 degree heating surface can heat larger spaces. If you need a forced-air heater, models with ceramic elements tend to be more efficient.

Are space heaters a fire hazard?Space heaters are implicated in about 25,000 residential fires every year. To ensure proper safety, always follow the manufacturer's usage instructions and fill out the warranty card to receive informational updates from the manufacturer. Also, look for extra safety features such as an automatic shutoff switch that can shut down the unit if, for example, it gets upended. In addition, choose a model where the heating element is adequately enclosed within the unit.
